I am addicted! Seriously, I eat this soup twice a week. It's so good! If you know me, you know that I don't like following recipes so for me to take the time to count and measure, well... let's just say it's because I care!
Spicy Bliss Soup
3 medium sized potatoes thinly sliced
9 celery sticks chopped
25 small shiitake mushrooms sliced (I shred them by hand)
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 can (light or full fat) coconut milk
3 tbsp cumin
1 jalepeños pepper and 2 serrano peppers (optional or you can reduce the number of peppers. Mine is so spicy I sweat a little when I eat it. These three peppers are added to only half the soup. But as mentionned it's up to you. )
1 can green peas
Blue hot corn chips
Salt and pepper to taste

self-care practices to enhance our life. Here are a few of my favourites:
1. Massaging our Feet
With 28 bones, 30 joints and more than 100 muscles, ligaments and tendons, our feet are phenomenal structures that provide stability, balance and support. Plus, the feet hold energetic points linked to almost every part of the body.
You can do it in the morning or in the evening before bed.
You will need oil; I alternate between jojoba, almond, castor and sesame oil and an essential oil (optional). For this purpose, my favourite morning essential oils are sweet orange or geranium and I use lemon, frankincense or lavender in the evening. There are of course more essential oils that would be suitable. Make sure you're not allergic before using it on your skin.
All you need is 2 tbsp of your favourite oil mixed with one or two drops (it depends on the quality of the essential oil) of essential oil....
A couple of years ago, at the end of the first segment of my Ayurveda workshop an overwhelmed student say’s “so you’re telling me I have to start eating this and that and stop eating that and this and…” I replied “Yes, if you want to set yourself up for failure that’s exactly what you need to do. Auspicious: The Word
Defined as conducive to success, auspiciousness is about creating favorable environments. It reminds us that it’s not what we do or even how it turns out that makes something auspicious, it’s rather how we do it and how we perceive our experiences.
“Success is liking yourself. Liking what you do and liking how you do it.”
As the longest day of the year, Summer Solstice brings a period when the days are getting shorter, which represents a downward, inward, dark, contracting and *nourishing cycle and as the shortest day of the year, Winter Solstice brings a period when the days are getting longer, representing an upward, outward, expansive, light and cleansing cycle. If you are familiar with yoga language, Summer Solstice is symbolized as Prana moving down the Sushumna and Winter Solstice is symbolized as Prana rising up the Sushumna.

With this heavenly yogi tea not only will your house smell divine but your taste buds and those of your guests will be dancing. 24 ounces of water
12 cardamon pods
2 sticks of cinnamon
12 ouces of soy or almond milk
3 slices fresh ginger
Black tea 1 bag
Honey or maple syrup (optional)
Bring spices to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes or longer. Add milk and black tea and let simmer for another 20 minutes or so.

Yoga/Ayurveda believes in “as within so without and as without so within”. Therefore, one of the ways we better understand our inner and true self and needs is by looking at the cycles of nature.
For example, Fall is always changing; It's windy, cold, warm, dry, wet and now with the change of time and early darkness it leaves some of us (depends on our constitution) feeling scattered and heavy. We go to bed tired but we toss and turn and have more weird dreams and we wake up feeling heavy and lethargic. Your digestion and overall mood may also be affected; With the mind focusing on worries rather than possibilities.

We had our first annual Inspired Living Retreat at le Centre de Vie in Ripon, Quebec and it was fabulous! Michel and Hélène our hosts, the guest house, the donkeys, the yoga studio, the hiking trails, the sauna, the lake, the outdoor living room and our inspired group (satsang)...all of it, just perfect!

The traditional definition of asana is a good seat for the mind and the body and a good seat is one that is both stable and easeful. We stabilize the mind in part through drishti (a steady and easeful focus for the eyes) and in part through breath. Not by trying to control the breath, but by giving it space. And, when it comes to the body, the asanas bring moments of physical stability and we learn to maintain this stability with ease (not to be confused with easy) rather than resistance. That moment when we feel the difference between holding space with stability and ease rather than rigidity and resistance is both grounding and joyous; a perfect blend of stability and ease.
